When I go to the gym I see a lot of people disregard the pull up and dip bars.
It’s either because they can not do them or they don’t think it is as important as lifting weights.
If you are a beginner or been working out for years it is really essential that you can do pull ups and dips.
This creates the V in your body that weights will not create.
Something about a mans body that shows you can do pull ups and dips.
Being able to lift your own body and do it effortlessly will help in your goals to create a great physique.
RESULTS IN YOUR BODY FROM PULL UPS AND DIPS WILL NOT GO AWAY IF YOU STOP WORKING OUT FOR A PERIOD OF TIME
Pull up and dip muscle won’t leave you when times get ruff.
You treat your body bad but those pull up and dip gains will linger till you are back fully at it again hitting the gym hard.
Let’s say you only did pull ups and dips and you stop working out for weeks or months. The results you got from them will not go away as much as if you only lifted weights.
When I started bodybuilding years ago in high school I did not see positive results until I started doing pull ups and dips.
I lifted weights and yes I saw results but pull up and dips changed the game.
I started to see the v shape in my upper body and my back and chest got huge.
YOU CAN DO PULLS AND DIPS ANYWHERE
When I first started doing them I went to a park with a friend. We hung out and had a good workout. We even nick named the park, “the camp” for our bond to the bars we hung on.
I would try all different variations, from wide grip to close together with my hands. An hour would go by cause I would talk with my friend and do sets in-between.
There are also pull up bars you can use in your door way that can help you get some in while you are in your home. You can also put two chairs in between your body and do dips that way.
I either do my pull ups and dips in beginning of a workout or at the end of a workout.
I make sure I don’t lose touch with the thing that help me so much in my younger years!
WEIGHTED PULL UPS AND DIPS
Once you start doing pull ups and dips and they are gradually increasing in reps and sets you can buy the belt with a chain and connect weights to it. Every sporting goods store has it.
You should be able to do anywhere from 15-25 pull ups and 30 to 50 dips a set in order to graduate to using the belt.
This would be the best workout you can do for yourself. Weighted pull ups and dips create that physique you are after.
WHAT IF YOU CAN’T DO ANY PULL UPS OR DIPS?
You will have to start from scratch. Start with trying to do one then move up to two and so on.
You have to make it a goal and constantly work on it each day.
Gyms usually have those pull up-dip stations where you can put your knees on a pad and it will assist you depending how much weight you need to lift yourself up with.
You can also have a gym partner, friend, son, daughter or whoever give you a spot with lifting your legs as you try to do a pull up and same with dips.
